Hexham, Northumberland

Hexham lies on the A69 half way between Newcastle and Carlisle. It is a historic market town and is built around the Abbey which started as a monastery in AD 674. Hexham is also conveniently close to many other tourist attractions, for example

  1. Hadrian's Wall 
  2. Wark, Simonburn and the North Tyne Valley
  3. Bastle Houses from Border Reiver times.
  4. Allendale town and Valley.
